How We Help

Cancer Support Scotland is here to provide emotional and practical support, both on a one-to-one basis and through community-based groups, to anyone affected by cancer, including family, friends and carers.

For a full list of the services provided at the Calman Centre and various outreach centres please see the following : What's On Information Sheet

Hot StonesFrom our home in the grounds of Gartnavel, we offer a warm, friendly environment where anyone affected by cancer can come for one of our extensive range of complementary and talking therapies.

All of our therapists and counsellors are experienced in working with people affected by cancer.

We can provide you with six therapy sessions. If you and your therapist feel as though you would benefit from futher sessions, this can be discussed.

We also work in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and Glasgow Life at their sites at The Bridge, Easterhouse, Dennistoun Library, The Mitchell Library and Renfrew Health Centre, where we provide talking therapies and complementary therapies.

We have support groups throughout Scotland, where people affected by cancer can find someone to share their experiences with and meet with people who have been through, or are going through, the same thing.

In October 2012, we moved into our new Calman Cancer Support Centre. This has enabled us to double our old capacity, helping us to meet a growing demand from our service users.
